I have a few unpainted canvasses lying around ... so thought I would have a break from the small study and work on a larger painting. Have been meaning to do this painting for some time; of a duck with water patterns.
I hadn't given any thought to what duck this was, until I started preparing the canvas - but I'm pretty sure it's a 'ruddy' duck ... strangely enough the first print I bought, as a young girl, was a painting by Sir Peter Scott of this very bird! .... well not this duck obviously but of a 'ruddy' duck at Slimbridge Wildfowl Reserve.
